Worship Forum
Sunday worship is at the heart of our community life, and a better understanding of its history and workings could deepen that experience. Twice a year Rev. Michael leads a Liturgy Forum after church, which explores in greater depth a subject related to worship. (Liturgy, which literally means "the work of the people," refers to our ceremonial forms.) Everyone—from longtime members to newcomers—is invited to participate.
Recent subjects include an exploration of the types of prayer found in Sunday worship. From that workshop a group was formed to write Prayers of the People, which are read every Sunday. Another subject was an exploration of the history and meaning of the Eucharist, which both enhanced the worship experiences of our members and provided training for lay worship leaders. Please contact Rev. Michael with any suggestions you may have for future sessions.
