Dorcas Group
(Dorcas was a woman in the Bible who spent her life making clothes for the poor.)
At St. Timothy's, Dorcas is a group of devoted women who make quilts and blankets for layettes. In 2009 we made and delivered 210 layettes to four or five shelters and homes in the Denver metro area. The layettes consist of handmade baby quilts, afghans, blankets, bibs, hats, sweaters and booties. We add gently used or new clothes such as sleepers, onsies, outfits, socks and a small toy. Many of the items are made by members of the group and some are made by other church members and friends. We depend on you for infant clothes, material, batting, yarn (please make sure it is very soft) and small stuffed toys. The clothes can be gently used (with our magic formula, we can get out almost any stain).
If you have any of the items we can use or know of anyone who might, please consider donating them to Dorcas. We could not do our work without your help.
