ST. TIMOTHY YOUTH RETREAT
Once again it’s here....the weekend we all wait for all
year. A retreat with St. Timothy Youth Group! As you can
see from last years picture we have a ton of fun
The weekend will consist of worship, games, crafts, free
time, small groups and listening to a fabulous speaker.
We travel to camp Id*Ra*Ha*Je for the weekend, which is
a camp near Bailey, Colorado. The camp is a great place
and has lots of fun things for us to do. Like all of our
events, bringing friends is encouraged. As disciples of
Christ we are called to show other people who Christ is
and retreat is a perfect place to do that.
Being a part
of this weekend is easy. Just cross off those days on
your calendar and turn in your permission slip and
deposit of at least $50.00 no later than February 15,
2009. If you would like to get ahead of the game take
advantage of the early bird registration offer. (Details
can be found on the permission slip). I will send a
confirmation letter with all of the details in February.
So invite your friends, turn in your permission slip and
your money. It is important that everyone comes to the
retreat, so remember money should never be a reason for
you not to go. Please let Shanda know if you need a
scholarship. I am looking forward to the best weekend of
the year.

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO
- December 7 - Regular youth group Jr High 5-7 and Sr High 7-9.
- December 13 - Operation Christmas Child. We will be going to their
warehouse to process the shoe boxes. If you are 13 or older then please
consider spending the morning at the warehouse getting
gifts ready to go to children all over the world. This is a
favorite activity of many youth group members and I am
confident that you will enjoy this experience. We will meet
at St. Tim's at 7:45 am and return at 12:30 p.m. Please sign-up
with Shanda to attend. I have spots for 15 youth and I need
at least 5 adults to attend. I will be taking the first 20 people so
please sign up right away by calling or emailing Shanda.
- December 14 - Regular youth group Jr High 5-7 and Sr High 7-9.
- December 20 - The youth group is going downtown! On December 20 the
youth will journey downtown for lunch and a play. We will meet at 10:30
am at the light rail station (Mineral) so we can take the 10:45 am train.
We will go to lunch at Old Chicago, (they have pizza, pasta, hamburgers
etc.) and then we will catch the 1:30 p.m. show of The Miracle Worker. We
should arrive back to the train station by 4:30 p.m., we will call when we
are on the train. You must sign-up for this event by December 7! If it is
at all possible please bring your money for tickets this Sunday. The
ticket price is $19.00 (make your check payable to St. Timothy) You will
need $4.00 for the light rail and about $12.00 for dinner so the entire
day will cost you about $35.00. If for some reason you can’t be at youth
group this Sunday please call or email Shanda right a way to reserve your
ticket. I am looking for chaperones, if you know of an adult who would
like to attend please let me know.
- December 21 - Youth Group Christmas Party! We will gather
from 6-9 p.m. for dinner, a gift exchange, games and a
Christmas movie. GIFT EXCHANGE INFORMATION: If you would like to
participate in the exchange please bring a $10.00 gift for a
guy or a gal. Please be creative and bring a gift rather than a gift
certificate.
- December 28 - Movie Small Group.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We
will meet at the AMC movie theatre in Highlands Ranch and see the first
movie after 11:00 am. After the movie we will go to Red Robin for lunch.
Please Call Shanda on Saturday to verify the movie times since it is so
hard for me to schedule it so far out.
