Kickoff to a new year

This coming Sunday, September 9th, will be our Kickoff Sunday. We launch our program year together and gather after the 10am service for an all-parish picnic and celebration. We will have games, a bounce house and ministry fair. A highlight of the day will be the Pie Bake-off, so plan now to get out that secret family recipe, bake a pie to enter in the bake-off and participate in the fun! The main course and beverages will be provided. We ask that you bring the following according to your last name:  A-G, cookies or brownies / H-Z, a side dish. Food can be dropped off in the Parish Hall before the services.
As we begin the new  program year, it is a joyous opportunity to come together, celebrate our common life, and build up our fellowship through song, laughter, fun and worship. If you’ve heard the gospel stories of Jesus, you know that he was given to taking time with friends, his disciples, and complete strangers, to share a meal, conversation and yes, have some fun. Our common life together is about breaking bread, serving our neighbors, giving our lives to God and one another, and building community so that we might learn to live our lives in relationship and not isolation. So, join the fun this Sunday as we begin our program year and invite a friend! Come and sit a spell with one another; learn a new name; introduce yourself; eat some good food and all the while, know that we are strengthening the ties that bind us together as Christ’s body in this place. I’m looking forward to it.

See you Sunday!
