From The Rector
It is an exciting time at St. Tim’s. And as our Senior Warden, Simon Caddick, mentioned on Sunday: God continues to guide us and call us forth into deeper waters of faith as a congregation. We are working to align our monies with our mission, which is a way of saying, that we are committed to being faithful to the ways God is calling us forth in ministry. Over the past two years we have and continue to see growth in our children’s, youth, and family ministries and it is a priority this year to more appropriately fund these ministries. Moreover, such growth requires us to respond to the ministry needs of our staff by providing more support to them through our administrative team. As our common life has deepened, we are in need of more clergy support to meet the pastoral, worship, and formational needs of our congregation. This vision for the coming year does not come from the vestry alone, but is what we believe God is already doing in, among, and through us at St. Tim’s. We are simply trying to keep up with God’s Spirit moving among us!
This is an exciting time at St. Tim’s—and with it, God calls us deeper into trust and faith. It takes courage to step out into this deeper water. God is always calling us to places or courage. Just this past week, a parishioner shared with me how they heard, through the sermon last week, a call to risk and not miss out on what God offers us in this life. I told them how this is precisely what I think the life of faith is: taking risks for Jesus in this world. We are asking you to prayerfully consider increasing your pledge by 10% this year in the courage and faith that God is with us, calling us forth in this deeper commitment to our shared ministry. It’s a tall order and it calls for faith and courage. And friends, I think this is exactly what God desires: faith, courage, and hope. And your generosity to this annual pledge campaign is just that.
I’m grateful for you. Thank you, thank you.
Christ’s peace to you this day,
